UPDATE AS OF 04/04/2012
HB12-1110 passed through the Appropriations Committee on 03/23 with a vote of  7 to 6.  Passed through the full House today 4/04 with a vote of 35-29.  Now onto the Senate!

After much discussion and a robust effort, HB12-1110 regarding the regulation of Appraisal Management Companies, passed through the House Committee on Economic and Business Development with a vote of 7 to 5 on Thursday 2/23 and passed through the House Finance Committee with a vote of 8 to 4 on Wednesday 3/7

Many thanks to our CCA Lobbyist, Gayle Berry, for successfully moving this through the obstacles that came up on Tuesday 2/22 and her continued efforts with the members of the House Committee.  These efforts were paramount in obtaining this affirmative vote.  We would also like to thank Marcia Waters, who's professionalism and willingness to work with all stakeholders played a critical role, without which we would not have made it this far.  The House Committee acknowledged the hard work that had gone into creating a bill that took into consideration all interested parties.

We thank all of our CAREA members who have supported CAREA's membership in the Colorado Coalition of Appraisers. Without your support, which affords the Coalition's ability retain Ms. Berry, we would not be seeing the success we did last week.

A great link to see all information on the bill is HERE

We will keep you updated as we move on through the process.  Next up Appropriations Committee.

Regards,

Your CAREA Board
